As a midwife, expert by experience, and specially trained HG coach, I’d be happy to help you a step further on your way.

HG Pregnancy Coaching

HG is a severe form of pregnancy sickness that may or may not be accompanied by excessive vomiting. The symptoms are so severe that they seriously impede or even completely halt normal daily life. Untreated, HG can have major consequences for both mother and child. In recent years, there has been more awareness of this condition, more treatment options have emerged, and more research is being conducted. Unfortunately, a solution to the problem is not yet available, which means women suffering from this condition often face a difficult pregnancy and frequently require a long recovery period after childbirth, both physically and mentally. For the mental aspect, it can be helpful to talk to a coach, as these women often struggle with various questions about the present and the future. Feelings of regret, guilt, shame, and sometimes grief can also arise.

Pure Pain and Partner Training

There are many types of childbirth courses you can take. Some courses provide a lot of text and explanation about how childbirth works, others focus on breathing and relaxation, and sometimes the emphasis is on giving birth as easily as possible with minimal pain. However, childbirth is inevitably accompanied by pain, is experienced as intense, and often we have no influence on whether or not (minor or major) complications occur. Often, a birth goes differently than you had imagined beforehand. Despite, or sometimes because of, the birth plan you had made.

We all have thoughts about childbirth, and during the Pure Pain & Partner training, in addition to explaining the processes that occur in your body, we will also explore these and discuss (labor) pain and the capacities you have already developed in the past to cope with it. (Birthing) partners will also receive many tools, tips, and tricks to maximally support the
birthing woman so that you can truly do it together. This powerful, coaching training was developed by midwife and coach Eliane
Coutinho, who has made it her life’s work to prevent negative birth experiences. After all, prevention is better than cure. After the training, you will have enough knowledge and tools to prepare further together and write a birth plan. For more information, visit www.mea-coaching.nl

FAQ

Yes, that is certainly possible. I always offer a first, free introductory meeting of 20 minutes. This can be done by phone or online.

The Puur Pijn training is (partly) reimbursed depending on your insurance.
Unfortunately, (HG) coaching is almost never reimbursed, but do check your insurance.

With the Puur Pijn training sessions, you are even supposed to bring your birth partner. A birth partner is the person who will support you during childbirth. This is often your life partner, but not in all cases.

Coaching is usually one-on-one, but sometimes, for example in the case of discussing a new desire to have children after HG, it can be useful to come as a couple. In any case, we can always discuss what is useful or desirable in each situation.

Yes, that is certainly possible. Sometimes one coaching session is enough to discuss the request for help. But it is also fine if you want to stop (temporarily) after one session. You decide.

The duration of a coaching session is a maximum of 60 minutes, but shorter is certainly possible. I understand better than anyone that you may not be able to last that long when you feel so sick. In that case, we will finish earlier and I will only charge for the time we spoke to each other.

If you choose to meet with me physically, it is possible in The Hague (Scheveningen), in Zoetermeer and in Voorburg within the walls of a midwifery practice. In some cases, I am willing to come and coach at home. If you wish, we can discuss this possibility. I do believe that it is better to be out of your own environment to really have a good conversation.

The Puur Pijn training sessions are no larger than 6 couples. I would like to have attention for everyone. From a minimum of 3 couples, I let the training continue in a group setting. If the number is less than 3, we will work together to find a suitable solution. This could be, for example, an individual training or a refund. This rarely happens, but in obstetrics it sometimes happens that women have already given birth or are admitted to the hospital.

I know better than anyone that you sometimes feel too bad to come or talk. No problem. If you want, we will schedule something else.

With regard to the course, it may happen that an unexpected (medical) reason may arise that prevents you from coming. In this case, you will get your money back if you have already paid.

I don’t give online training sessions. I really like to meet people physically.

The coaching can certainly be done online or by phone. Whatever you want.
